PAPR/CAPR Training

A PAPR, or Powered Air Purifying Respirator, is a battery-powered device that filters airborne contaminants like dust, fumes, and vapors. PAPRs are a type of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) that can be used in high-risk situations to protect the wearer's respiratory health and safety.

Quantitative Fit Testing

Quantitative fit testing, on the other hand, is a completely objective and precise method. It employs specialized equipment to measure the actual leakage into the respirator. This method does not rely on the wearer's senses of taste. Instead, it provides numerical data that quantifies the fit of the respirator.

Qualitative Fit Testing

Qualitative fit testing is generally less expensive than its quantitative counterpart, making it a more accessible option for some organizations.

Leakage into the respirator is detected by the user's sense of taste. Acceptable testing agents used are either Bitrex (bitter) or Saccharin (sweet).
